Plane crash survivors offend local wolf pack. See the movie and tell us what you would do!

I saw the movie and it was terrible from a survival view point.
Gathering up supplies from the wreckage was right, and moving from the wind-swept crash site to the nearby tree line made sense. But leaving a defenseable position in the trees -at a dead run -in the dark -was a bit silly. Even if you buy the whole "wolf kill zone" business. They had rigged up some neat bang sticks from shotgun shells and sticks but the seem to have abandoned them in their mad midnight dash.
One of the reasons for leaving the area (besides the seemingly supernatural wolves) was that "No one will be looking for us here. The search area is too big" This was a scheduled company flight from the oil fields to Anchorage. So of course they will come looking.
Oh, and apparently wolf packs have a 30 mile radius kill zone around their den in which they will kill every living thing.

Sorry for the rant.
They were 6 or 7 men who survived the crash. None were seriously injured. The sheltered area was dense forest.
Gather food, clothing and other useful supplies from the wreckage.
Move to the nearest sheltered area.
Start gathering fire wood and building shelter.
If you have endless water, fuel and good shelter then stay put and start eating wolves.
Hell they probably could have had a log fort built the first day.

You got it Leo.

Stay put and eat fresh wolf.

I understand that Merriwether Lewis (of Lewis & Clark) preferred dog.

Hollywood has to make everything appear to be so much more difficult than necessary.....

Lmao!
Most survival movies are silly from a reality stand point. I'm still waiting for The Grey to hit Redbox. I forget the Title, but there was a movie with Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin being hunted by a bear. It had some solid techniques, and some pure silliness in it. But over all was an excellent movie. Did Liam tape broken bottle necks to his knuckles? Can you say ouch?

"The Grey".....yeah I went and watched this 1hr 57min waste of my life. Who ever wrote this movie should be ousted from the business, it was rediculous. I was hoping for something along the lines of "The Edge" (good flick) I realize they can't just make the whole movie about them "surviving" becuase who wants to watch guys camp, but still it was like watching What not to do!
The whole killer wolf thing was a bit silly to me, but even then stand your ground, make a spear, and eat some wolf.
I loved how after Liam Neeson fell in the river and got freezing soaking wet, he just kept walking on. Hello?? start a fire. Guess he never read Jack Londons "to build a fire". The ending was just ignorant. If you go see this movie, bring a six pack or a flask, you'll need it to survive.. mad

Hollywood is perhaps the worst possible source for survival information. Perhaps that is because most of what you do in a survival situation doesn't produce very exciting visuals.

"Hi guys! Thanks for coming to look for me! I'm glad you saw the blaze orange flag I put up. I'm a little hungry but otherwise in great shape. Want a tour of my debris hut before we go?"
