I like the outside of the proverbial box thinking, but I would have to agree that an IV bag would probably be a poor choice for a survival water container (unless it was the only thing around).

The really don't compact down very small, for the size I would rather have a Platypus. You would also need to devise a clever way to reseal/fill them, because once opened they are not easily resealable.
