Phaedrus +1 -- Even with survival gear, we are still discussing a 14yo on his own in the wilderness. Maybe he has skills we normally do not attribute to typical 14yo kids in the lower 48, but at that age I would try stuff I wouldn't consider today. I was "bulletproof" and consequences never entered my thoughts.
