It's funny how the photos of those Leatherman's (especially the top two) strongly remind me of photos of Japanese "Transformers"-type die-cast metal robot toys from when I was a young kid. They had movable parts that went every which way. Waaaay more interesting than Hot Wheels!
Gosh...could it be...they're trying to tap into the nostalgia of guys for the toys of their youth?
Actually, I wouldn't put it past the marketing folks. So many TV commercials are meant to evoke some emotional response to something from our youth.
