We've had only two significant power outages in the past twenty years, that I can recall: 1994 (ice storm, temps in the teens - rolling blackouts to ease the load on the grid) and 2008 (equipment malfunction - 102 degrees - how did people live here before a/c?)
Our lines are underground, which avoids a lot of problems.
