My girls just ran their first 5K race today. It was their first race of any kind. My 10 year old came in 5th in the 10-14 year old age group. And my 7 year old came in 1st in the 0-9 year old age group. Don't know where the 0 part came from.

But I am very proud of them. The older trained for about 4 weeks and the younger decided she wanted to enter two weeks ago so only trained for two weeks. They finished within about 30 seconds of each other both doing about 11 minute miles.

The winner was a tall adult guy. He did 5K in about 16 minutes. Really fast.
