What are you people doing to me?

I EDC a PSK, Leatherman with a fire steel and mini mag in the sheath, a heatsheet, bandana, a whistle, SAK, 2 micro photons, a keychain LED and a paracord belt. I always wear layered clothing that's designed for the worst weather, including hat, gloves, sunglasses and either hiking shoes or insulated boots. Theres always at least one pac-sized kit close at hand and I'm always thinking about modifying, reorganizing or adding to my emergency plans and supplies.

I'm learning to grow, forage, and cook new things in new ways, learning to work with pararcord, and I'm hooked on building my own stoves. Last night I participated in my first archery class with the Cub Scouts, tomorrow I'm going to learn to shoot a pellet gun with our Scout Troop and I asked to join one of the groups learning to shoot. 22s.

Just today I bought another small digital camera case to hold the 2 cards I keep in my chest pocket while at work because it will also hold the chapstick, mini bic and mini LED I normally keep loose in my pockets too - and then I immediately started to think about adding some duct tape a couple of bandaids....

You've done this to me and I thank you. smile

Despite the title of this web site -- I think the keys to improving are not more/better equipment but rather expanding your horizons as you clearly have done this year. New activities, learning new methods and wider interaction with people are the greatest parts about interacting in this forum. As they say in the Backpacker magazine forums -- "Get out more!" smile

Will do Les. There's a rumor that we're going to book the range for our leaders to try handguns. My fingers are crossed. I hear that there's also a chance that our leaders will join one of the other groups to do it.

Noting your Pack and Troop involvement... Venturing Crews (BSA, Co-ed, 14-21) can participate in handgun shooting too...
