Light, cheap and warm a fleece blanket is an easy add to your car kit, camping equipment or go/ stay/ slumber party bag.

A blanket is SO versatile. You can sit on them, wrap them around you, cover a victim with them, use them to help build a shelter, use them like a towel, create a privacy screen, blackout windows, make padding for a splint, use them like a sled, make a sling to carry a baby, make a backpack...

All in all, I prefer my woobie (aka GI issue poncho liner).
More expensive but it packs smaller and is lightweight.

I love my poncho liner too. Would like it even more if it wasn't so slippery slick. And tips to make it less so?

A few years back I found a fleece sleeping bag. It's basically a fleece blanket with a zipper around the edge so you can zip it in half to make a sleeping bag.

I ended up buying one for all our family's cars/trucks/ect. It's not as warm as a nice sleeping bag, but it was reasonably priced, it rolls up to be reasonably compact, and it can keep one plenty warm inside the vehicle.

It also comes in handy as a picnic or Fourth of July blanket, so you don't have to sit directly on the grass. smile
