Just after last Christmas fruit cake was half price in the supermarket. Watch out for it on your 'who blinks first' Christmas eve shopping trip :-). If you are in the UK british army 'rich fruit cake' that was in the 10 man ration packs when I served is tinned, so has a shelf life of decades. And is excellent. qjs
