Apparently it can lead to heart arrhythmias in adults! It can also interact with other medicines. Although black licorice is so disgusting it's hard to imagine eating enough to harm a person! wink

I love licorice, including black licorice.

And I have a new bag of it I'm eager to dig into. Will keep my cell phone handy in the event it necessitates a call to 911.

And I see that the article at the link contains some significant information. Thanks for that.

Will see how many strands 2 ounces works out to.

It contains "glycyrrhizin?" If it wasn't MS NBC, I'd figure it was a joke with a word like that.

I'll have to watch the ol' licorice consumption.

From what I understand most modern licorice candy has very little licorice in it.

Licorice has been used for centuries to soothe and protect the stomach lining. For that you want chewable DGL tablets. DGL stands for Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice. The glycyrrhizin that causes high blood pressure has been removed.
