A very short story via yahoo on a snow machine operator who had an accident, and survived several nights in an Alaskan blizzard.

Unfortunately the story has no details on how he made it through.

A few further details from an alaskan newspaper:

Pilots Steve Williamson and Don Meany flew out in a helicopter to get the man, Mercer said. When they reached him, he told them he'd driven the snowmachine into a ravine, said Meany, the helicopter pilot.

"He knew enough not to be down in the ravine, that it'd be impossible to find him. So he was up on the tundra, the snowmachine was there, and he had tipped the sled up that he was towing all of his gear on, as a windbreak and used a tarp as a lean-to," Meany said. "Just strength of will on his part, got himself up out of the ravine so he could be found."

The helicopter took him to the hospital in Barrow, and he was later flown to Alaska Native Medical Center, Mercer said.

Mercer said he could not release the man's name or the extent of his injuries. Greener said he heard the man had injured his pelvis.

Note: Story also says he was found when a faint radio signal was detected.
