Another winner in the no-common-sense category. On video.

Here's a better text article

That looks like a pretty sheer cliff face to climb down on the spur of the moment. With no rope, no gear, no communication device.

And why would she do that wearing a swim suit??? If she had been wearing a string bikini top instead of the stretchy band, it would probably have given out, and the video would have gone viral.

Wow, what the heck were they thinking...

That's not a swim suit, you see women jogging and other stuff in that all the time.

hey, that's california dinner dress. i see nothing wrong with that.

but:

1. lose the boyfriend with the bright idea; and
2. down climbing is never an option.

and she was stuck "for a whole two hours". ooooooooh.

It would not have been nearly as dramatic, but a whole lot safer, if they had just dispatched a decent technical rescue team to the scene. Our term for that kind of operation was "turkey on the rock." Come to think of it, not only safer, but much cheaper.

There is a lot of good climbing at Malibu State Park, but most prefer to start at the bottom and work upwards.

Yes. The hookers in Las Vegas used to wear them (and walk with a bounce), now all the girls do.

I have to agree with Hikemor, a tech rescue team would have been much much safer and a lot less drama. While the rescue paramedic did a great job there was a larg potential for the rescuer to accidentaly knock the poor girl off. The strap that she was holding was a tow strap. yet the guy at the top was barly holding it.

and I agree with the person who said that she should dump the idiot boyfriend with "bright ideas"

She won't. Or if she does, she'll hook up with the same type. That's why women are still second-rate citizens as a group: having a man, any man, is better than having to think for yourself, stand up for yourself or support yourself. It doesn't matter how low a guy is (serial killer, child molester, wife beater, etc), there are women who will take up with them. And often they will die by their hand.

The helicopter would have been useful in transporting the tech team to the location really quickly.
