simple mix of fruit juice from over ripe fruits ,sugar and boric acid either sprayed on plants or filling a bottle with the mixture, from what I could glean a narrow neck bottle with a wick to draw up the mix as it would evaporate less.

We've used boric acid in our carpets for 25 years to control fleas. Haven't had a problem with crawling bugs in that time.
