I donate every few months when my company sponsors a Blood Drive. Many companies do this and it makes for a very easy donation, especially since I get paid to give. I have done this for the last 7 years, at least 4 times a year.

In a strange way I feel this is one way I can give back to my country. I didn't get to serve in the military, so this is one way I can help out.

Regular donor here...somewhere around 8+ gallons at last count. Been donating since about 1993. Everytime the bloodmobile shows up at work I make a point of stopping in. Double platelets, whole blood, apheresis...whatever they need the most when I get processed. Sadly with the viral explosion of tattoos, piercings, drug and travel restrictions the pool of available donors is shrinking. Where I live, they are not allowed to pay donors for blood, I have no problem with donating for the sake of donating though.

Another O- here. I've been donating since I was 17, although I'm not good at chasing them down every 56 days. Fortunately I have usually been working for companies that have office blood drives several times a year. I don't think my records are complete, but they say I'm in the 3-4 gallon range.

I absolutely hate doing it, but it's a guilt/obligation thing. blush
