One more easy one: filll up your vehicle before it gets to half full. You'll fill up twice as often but it will only cost half as much so it balances out cost-wise, and you'll be better prepared to sit in traffic, bug-out, or whatever. AND, it's also less likely that your teenager will leave you on E when they borrow the car.
