I'm with pete, quick scan and i'm gone again. Easier with fewer categories.

I, too, read everything posted, so the fewer categories, the better.

Doesn't matter to me. I'm always using the Active Topics aggregation menu and search when necessary. The NightHiker's idea is interesting though. It's closer to a tagging approach (like in gmail), which is superior to categorizing, but that could be harder to implement on this forum engine.

+1 on the scanning of the posts. I can easily live with the current organization. I say leave it alone.

I'm plus 1 on the leave it as it is. It works for me.

I scan everything quickly, so fewer forums is easier.

If there is support for another forum or two, thats OK; but I hate sites with sub-forums - it just gets more confusing to find things.
