I am working an assignment in Little Rock, Arkansas at present. A chemical plant in nearby Conway blew up just before lunch today. I heard about evacuations on the radio, and had to check my map to see how close I was. Luckily, not too close, and the prevailing winds were blowing favorably. I had just been checking my BOB last night, and had replaced some out of date medications.
Just goes to show, it never hurts to go through your gear from time to time, and I need to look a little more closely at what industrial sites are nearby.

Thanks, hillbilly. We did get one of the burn patients at my hospital, another was flown to Memphis to a burn unit there. I have done a little more homework, and most of the industry in Little Rock seems to be on the east side of town near the river. I am in the west side of town, which is more commercial. I will be studying my Arkansas map a little more, so that I am more familiar with locations of towns. I am in a good spot to get out of town, I-40 and I-30 give me some options for travel out of the area. I keep hearing how beautiful the northern part of the state is, will have to head that way in a few weeks when I have some time off work.

While you are in town, go by Bennett's Military surplus Downtown on 3rd street down by the convention center, They have paracord, esbit stoves etc reasonable.

JoeBob, to get out of town you might consider using Chenal or Cantrell to go west, but you have to remember nuclear one in russellville or Pine Bluff Arsenal to the southeast(most of the nerve gases in US are down there about 30 miles southeast of Little Rock.
