Chisel, I haven't tried the Bongo, so I can't comment on it specifically except to reiterate what I said yesterday: Sterno cans don't have a good reputation for high heat output.

However, having said that, Sterno is cheap enough. Buy a can, burn off the gelled alcohol, fill it with liquid alcohol, and try it out. Let us know how it goes.
