Reversing one battery is a good compromise for people like me who are simply not going to do periodic replacement of batteries on "secondary" flashlights. If I ever start doing maintenance at that level, then I first need to be more consistent with draining my water heater, cleaning house gutters, staining my fence, regenerating my water softener, etc.
