I forgot its name, so I hope the experts can help

The film starts as the pilot of a small plane takes off from an island. He spends several hours flying over sea and realizes he is "lost". Navigation systems didn't work and he starts calling for help.

His message is picked up by an airliner with dozens of passengers. However, neither pilot knows where the other plane is !!! The pilot of the Boeing (I think) pulls several tricks to try help the unfortunate pilot of the small plane to reach safety.

Dang, I think I saw that one a looooong time ago. No idea what the name is, but it I was impressed with the navigation tricks also.

I think it was made for TV...

Cool! Now to see if Netflix has it.

It was Top Gun. The navigation trick was when Mav, well you see, he flew upside down and over the MIG when he took the picture.
