Neat Have you had any issues with your axis lock? I read That the Barrage has issues with its lock and spring but these are all dated 2009 and hopefully they have fixed them in the past 2 years

no...mine is older than that..probably pushing 8 years or so..plum g10 with a bright 154cm blade...although there doesn't look like a lot of blade lock up, I've never had a problem... I bicycle an hour or so daily, so gets a lot of sweat that puts a speck or two of surface rust that easily rubs off...blow the lint out with an air compressor every month or two..

Benchmade Elishewitz 730 Ares with axis lock Got one of those too! It's a bit bulky/weighty for my taste. The coating got scratched up pretty good after a only a few uses so it's not as pretty as it used to be.

Spyderco Spin (C86) is on my keychain. Most of the time I either have have an ESEE (RAT) Izula on my belt, or a similar size knife that I made a few months ago(better steel than the Izula IMO, CPM154 at 61 Rc). It has a slightly longer handle than the Izula, different shape, has scales instead of the cord wrap. It is heavier though, due to solid tang, and stabilized wood scales. I love the Izula, and don't mind it being carbon steel (since its powdercoated the only area of concern is the edge), but it just doesn't hold an edge as long as I'd like. It is really easy to sharpen though.

A Leatherman tool of some sort, usually a Wave or Blast. Before the l-tool was around, I carried a SAK.

I'll probably be drummed out of ETS for saying this, but when I'm going about my daily business in town I almost never EDC a knife. All I carry is my wallet, cell phone and my keys. I do keep an LED light on my key ring. In my truck I keep some tools as well as a Streamlight LED headlamp, as well as a knife or two. When I do carry a knife it's generally a Kershaw Chive or Scallion. When out of town I do carry knives. I have several SAKs so I suppose I should try to get myself used to carrying one again. The problem is that I pathologically dislike carrying stuff in my pockets. It took years for me to get to where I could tolerate carrying a phone and even now I won't buy anything that's very big. Years ago I carried a Spyderco Endura. Now I have a Delica in VG-10. That's probably small enough to carry.

EDC varies with the activity. Work is an office with a no knives rule so I carry small harmless things like an ALOX SAK money clip (small blade and scissors) and a Leatherman E4 (yeah, I follow the rules sooo well). Around the house/town I like a larger SAK and my benchmade folders (benchmite, grip, mini-grip, mini-pika). Usually a leatherman charge-TI nearby or at least an old super tool also. To further corrupt a phrase - so many knives, so little time and not enough pockets.
For what it is worth I love my benchmade knives. The Axis lock has been rock solid for me.

Most every day (while at work and home) I carry Doug's mini RSK Mk1.
The clip is a tad chipped and scratched. The current version has a silver clip - which is age much more gracefully.
A faaaaaantastic knife!
When I head out camping I swap it out with the fullsize version of the RSK Mk1.
I originally carried the black-handled Mk1, but my wonderful wife surprised me with an orange-handled Mk1 a while back (after I had a moment of panic thinking I'd dropped the black-handled knife in a field).

Generally my pocket rotates a Buck Redpoint or a Case Sodbuster Jr.. I really do love the Sodbuster for its classic look. In my EDC kit I carry a Leatherman. The EDC is in a backpack usually which also has a Ritter Mk1 and because I am lazy I haven't taken out the Bear Grylls fixed blade for the last couple months.

It does take a thumb pull on the switch and then one finger to roll the axis point back, using the nubs on the axis. But for one hand opening and closing its very easy. Especially the closing.

EDC is a SAK Classic on the keychain and a Spyderco Dragonfly or Blade-tech Mouse Lite in the pocket. Little, inexpensive folders are perfect for everyday tasks and disappear in the pocket. Plus I don't have to baby it. Day pack has a Leatherman Charge Ti.
