Last few nights I was sleeping on the couch, ahem, by my own will. Anyways, one night I fell asleep and my glasses were on me. Next night I put them somewhere safe within arm reach.

Yesterday I was watching a U-tube for a guy who is testing his BOB camping on a remote trail. When he started describing how his sleep was, I thought : if he ws wearing glasses, where would he put them ??? If he puts them too close, they maybe crushed while he is a sleep. Too far ( inside the pack), them he may not be able to reach them in time if he waked up quickly hearing some noise around.

So, generally speaking , do you all keep with you a hard case for the glasses ??? And where do you put it when you sleep in the wilderness or in a camp ??

Also, I have been using a lanyard to keep my reading glasses hanging from my neck around the office, do you find any uses for such lanyard to keep your glasses from falling when you are camping/bugging out ???

I either put them into a pocket in the tent, a shoe, a hat, or the overhead storage.

I don't wear prescription glasses, but sunglasses are kept in a Berghaus hard case usually attached externally to a right hand tension cross webbing strap on the rucksack for easy access when walking. During the night the rucksack is kept in the tent entrance vestibule along with the boots.

Either put it ins a gear hammock hanging from the tent ceiling or inside my boots in a hard case.

I use a hard case and either stick it in a pocket in the side of a tent or in my shoe/boot.

...and I carry back-up contacts.

In my boot, or hanging from one of the D-rings in the tent (most have some sort of little plastic D ring about 2/3 up)

I use a lanyard to keep them snug while awake, and a hard case during the night. I carry a backup in the pack.

Whatr kind of lanyard are you guys using? I haven't four a comfortable one yet.
