How about a deck of cards in your survival kit? Matter fact How about a deck of cards the size of your thumb?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0038EL...MWAEXAMYFB8AKFZ

I have to admit I felt like a dork and a half purchasing these at the store but Now in my "two" man survival kit I have a neat little deck of playing cards to boost morale. I Remembered on One of Ray Mears show's They showed a couple who stayed entertained by drawing out a deck of cards using their notepad and figured they weight nothing they take little space and they would spare what paper I need for notes and not cards.

I like both ideas! I usually carry a normal size deck of cards and am fond of cribbage but have not thought to look for either in compact sizes - until now! Thanks.

The theory of carrying a deck of cards is that you are lost and alone, far from civilisation. You stop, assess your surroundings, have a cup of tea and start to play patience.

Within ten minutes someone will lean over your shoulder and say "put the black Jack on the red Queen".

I can a deck of cards in my BOB and office kit too Frisket. My son got a mini deck from Chucky Cheese and decided to put it in his BOB as well. Seems like a good idea!

Ouch! $8.59 for a mini deck of cards? That seems a bit high, but maybe not for something so unique.

I carry a small deck of cards, but not nearly as small as the ones you're talking about. I have a 2-1/2 x 1-3/4 inch set of Hoyle cards from gofastandlight.com. They weigh 2oz. The price was $1.49.

When I saw the title of this thread, I thought Frisket was advocating the playing of strip poker, as long as you didn't have anything else to do...

Of course, it would depend on who you were stranded with.

You should be able to find similar-sized decks for a lot less. A store in my neighborhood has them (perhaps just a little larger but not by much) for $0.99.
