I don't have much trust in clip-on stuff. Good enough for everyday chores, but just about every one has failed me at least once. So, not suitable for off-grid trips. If it's not securely attached, you don't have it.

I strongly suggest a dedicated sheath or a sheath clipped on with a lanyard and quality mini-carabiner. Well under $10 either way.
