Just heard on the news that a 6.5 earthquake hit Califonia. I hope everybody is fine. I do not know how big is Cambria and if close to LA but I wish noone is hurt.
KCBS reports that it was a 6.5 at 11:17 AM with 5 aftershocks measuring 3.3 to 4.7. Quake was centered near Cambria ( North of Santa Barbera). I felt the quake here in San Jose over 100 miles to the North. There are reports of damage, including some building collapse and 50 people at the Emergency Room. Monitored CHP on the scanner and they asked their units to check overpasses for damage..
The earthquake seems to have been epicentered in San Luis Obispo County, CA, more or less 200 miles from each of the Los Angeles and San Francisco, CA areas. Three people were reportedly killed in the 6.5 quake.
Let's hope and pray for our western central CA friends, and family.
