Agree on the 'smart wool' socks. I never realized that light wool socks work better in summer than cotton socks.

Having tried the various wool sock weights in different conditions, I will never go back to all cotton socks...

Ditto - - the only socks I wear these days are either cool-max or wool.

I totally agree! I nearly cried when the plastic heel-stop (don't know the technical name) in my favorite pair of Merrells broke, and I realized they weren't being made anymore. God bless Merrell though, I found an even better pair during my search. LOVE THEM!
