Hi folks:

I was curious in that I've seen a photo of the Gunsite Scout rifle with an optional (3rd party perhaps) picatinny - where the front of it is mounted on the Scout's forward picatinny rail and the rear of this accessory rail is mounted in one or two of the slots where the proprietary Ruger scope rings go.

I like this rail because it gives me an option of putting scopes on much further to the rear than I can now and I don't like using the Ruger scope rings which leave you with not many options.

Does anyone know where I can get this accessory rail as I definitely want to order one?

Any sites, links, etc., would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance...

as a MGySgt you have more background than I do, but if I read your post correctly ...., Bravo Company has a series of scope mounts for traditional 1in and 30mm rings that attach to a Picatinny rail, with a cantilever for both forward and aft positioning... I'm most familiar with a LaRue Tactical mount for Trijicon Accupoint, but don't shoot a bolt gun, just black rifles with 4x32 and 1.5 x 16 ACOGs

I know what you're talking about. It's from XS Sight Systems.

I don't see it listed on their website, but I believe it's now in production.

How do you like your Ruger/Gunsite scout? I'd like to pick one of them up eventually. It's a really nice looking gun.

I recently picked up a Marlin 336Y, which is the short/youth version of the classic Marlin 336 lever rifle in .30-30. XS Sights also sells scout-style forward rails for them, which I think would make for a pretty nice variation on the scout rifle concept.

Here she is for right now:

Just under 35" overall, under 7lbs loaded, and holds 5+1 rounds of .30-30.....for right around $400. Just add rail and optics for pseudo scout rifle. wink
