Salt packets in the PSK

For those of you who "liberate" the little salt and pepper packets from your favorite fast food joint to include some seasonings in your PSK, a word to the wise - avoid the "puffed up" ones like you get at most McDonald's. They can't take any abuse at all before they "unpuff" and start spilling their contents, either all over your kit or, if you were lucky like me, only the the small zip-lock they were stored in.

Looks like I'll be wrapping them in Saran Wrap when I get home. Thanks for the heads up, Maggot.

For food I carry the seasoning packet from Ramen Noodle Soup. It has enough salt, pepper and other spices to season any fish or game. It will also make a mean two cups of broth to help me stay warm. It comes in sealed foil packets that take up very little space. I carry six packets in my Large PSK.

Hello, survivalperson,-I'm newcomer ScottRezaLogan trying to get my Sealegs on Replying/Messageing,-in an Intelligently/ Winging It combo.Working out Allright so far.And also to reply to the Topic of your specific message,-Which is that I've been long saving them too,-as a Normal and Natural Matter of Cse-Though not yet as part of a PSK,-my being a Longtime "Back Burnerer" to our Field of Survival/Preparedness,-(&Lk,EdtCr) -but Now a Newfound "Front Burnerer"! I'll Gladly keep your Idea here in mind,-and Apply these to Survival and Outdoors matters too. It wasn't too long ago that I got to thinking,-(EC that while not absolutely Crucial to Survival,-We'd Sure want something to "Tasten" our oftentimes Bland Meals Up!,-Out There!,where All Possible. And these Packets are a way of Doing that for Peanuts! -Hadn't yet Thot of it myself,-Thanks for Mentioning It!--------ScottRezaLogan [color:"black"] survivalperson

survivalperson,- -I am Redoing my Original Post to you,- -Which in Having Been my First One on This Site, -was Obviously Quite Full of Editing Mistakes. I Don't yet Know How to Delete the Original, -but Think I Will Know so Soon Enuf, -and Will Delete It as Soon as I Do Know How! -And GLADLY ! -Here the New One of the Original Goes,-
Hello, survivalperson,- -I'm Newcomer ScottRezaLogan trying to Get my Sealegs on Replying / Messageing, -in an Intelligent / Winging It Combo. -Working Out All Right So Far. This is my First Post.
And Also to Reply to the Topic of your Specific Message. -Which is that I've Been Long Saving Those Ramens Too! ( as a Natural Matter of Course, -Before I even Got to Thinking and Preparing a Lot for Survival and It's Like.)
Though for a Long Time I've Had my Survival Interest Largely on the Back Burner, -I Now Have It on a Newfound Front Burner!
I'll Gladly Keep your Idea concerning the Ramen Packets in Mind, -and Apply Them to Survival / Prep / Outdoors Matters as Well.
It wasn't Too Long Ago that I Got to Thinking,-That While these Ramen Salt / Flavoring Packets are Not Absolutely Crucial to Survival,-( Unless One maybe were in some Real Need of Salt! ),- -A Lot of Times,-We'd Sure Want something to "Tasten" our Oftentimes Bland Meals Up Out There! We'd certainly Like to Do So, -Where All Possible! And these Ramen Packets are a Way of Doing That for Peanuts!
-Hadn't Yet Thot of That myself, -Thanks for Mentioning It! -"Scott" [color:"black"] survivalperson

That should be Jan. 06, -that is. ( Couldn't make it to here where I post, till today)
(Also, -I so reply to one of my very first posts, -in that this particular library's "Child Protection Setup", -apparently won't let me make an original post! Though Reply ones work just Fine. I've talked on both of these, some months ago.)
From "Salt Packets" Style Flubups, (So Much so that I've later Redone it!, -This is the one that I now use, to make this Reply),
-To Saluteing our New Space Resolve, -along with it's Survival Aspects,
-To various other Style Flubups for a while, -(though Content was often Not Nearly so Bad.),
-To Getting eventually Much Better at it!, -Thanks as well to many Helpful Suggestions and Comments, from various ones of you.
-To bin laden and such of posts / threads, -of which I mindfully endeavoured to keep within our Proper Political Policy and Guidelines, -rather than "Spilling Outside of it". I think I was at least largely Adherent and Successful here. My Apologies for wherever I wasn't. Personal and National, -"Affects Us!", -Survival Implications may Well yet remain!, -however. So as Always, -Be Alert, On Guard, and Prepared, -for them!
-To the Earth's Wildest Places, of which I did not entirely finish. (But did sign off on, -at the end of such a Climatic Region. Good "Stopping Point" there.)
-To Further Posts, -Until now when circumstances have me Dropping In less often.,
-This all was my first Year here that was!
I've increasingly Learned here from you All, and of our Spirit and Content here, -Throughout!
Of the Importance and Place of Survivi-Prep in Life!, -This Remains *a* Paramount thing in Life!, -in my view.
Life is of course about "Living" too!, -"We Live to Live!, -Not merely Survive!" But that being so, -We yet need to First Survive, -in order to so and Further Live!
Be it Job and Livliehood Loss / Homelessness, -or Accidents / Injuries / Strandings / Lost / Disasters / or Other Emergency Situations, -or "Classic" and "Standard" Wilderness Survival, -or even up to All Out Teotwawki Survival Situations and Scenarios, -The Survival Situation and Imperative, -CAN conceivably be upon us!
As does a Squirrell, -Let's Prepare for it, -here when Times and Circumstances, -are Comparatively Good!
I mean No Undue "Own Horn Tooting" here, -just a mention of this occassion, -and a relayance of it's basic Facts.
And I'll Admit, -that Stylewise, -even here and this much later, -many of my Sentences tend toward the Longer, rather than the Shorter! This is just to let it be known, -that I've Noticed such myself. Some Continued Improvements, -are yet in Order, -here on the Basic Style Front. But again, -I Truly have gotten a lot Better, -too!
I'll Endeavour to Continue Honing Down any remaining Ruff Edges, -here in this Next, -and all upcoming years!
I've been here a Year now, -That was the Year that was, -This is the even Better Year now to Come!
(One more Post, -had I occassion to do so today, -and I now have, -would make it 365 for the Yeare!) [color:"black"] ScottRezaLogan

I was at Burger King the other day and found those AOL bags at the counter that have the disk in them. I took one home and slit it open to remove the disk and paper. I now pack stuff in them and seal it with and iron, using wax paper to keep the iron clean. Would be awesome to use for salt/pepper/ spices. You can make them as small as you want. I have used them to hold aspirin, water tablets, fishing line. I just got done sealing two large garbages in one container to protect them while they are in the bottom of my BOB carry bag. Let me know if you tried it and whether it worked for you.
