I have a picture of my boy at that age with a little red knife. He's now a 6'3", 200 lb military policeman. It brought a tear to my eye.

It's amazing how fast they grow, isn't it Byrd? You must be very proud! Kudos on raising a good one!

It's something we try to keep in mind. Some day our son will be grown-up, and hopefully we can help ensure he's got a good head on his shoulders - and that's it's full of good memories too!

I'll second that notion bacpacjac. DS is already 9 and will be 10 in july. Seems like only yesterday he was still a baby. Added to that my nephew, who was the cute little 4 year old ringbearer at my wedding, is getting married himself next weekend. [tears run down cheeks]

Wow! It happens so fast, Mark. We don't always see it in our own kids as it's happening. Just wake up one morning and think "When did he get this old?" Watching my son make that fire with my husband last weekend nearly brought me tears.
