Good Sam laws won't necessarily cover you if you have a certification or license. A paramedic/PA/doctor will be held to a higher standard of care then a layman.

Good Samaritan Laws generally will protect you (and yes it includes licensed individuals, who are not receiving financial compensation for their on scene activities) in providing life saving emergency procedures within the scope of one’s training. However, this does not mean you cannot still be sued, although, most of these suits are dismissed. Good Samaritan Laws may vary from state to state. Unfortunately, lawsuits are a way of life in these times. Hopefully, this will not prevent someone from becoming involved due to the fear of being sued. Pete
