Yeah, you're right, I'm a little hesitant to buy CR123 flashlights for other people, too, as I would probably then have to be the supplier of the batteries! <img src="images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Maybe the Streamlight 3AA TwinTask would be the way to go. You can get that for about $24, and then spend about $5 for a pack of 2 replacement xenon bulbs, and your friends would be set for a while. Or the Streamlight 3AA Luxeon Task Light (about $36), which won't be quite as bright as the xenon, but then they'll never have to worry about changing a bulb. The only drawback is these lights are a little long (about 8.5 inches), but they're still shorter than a Mag 2D, and thinner and lighter. And they're much nicer lights than the Mags.
