I forgot to mention the side clip when I sent it in for warranty work. Dang. The side clip broke with a year of buying it, so I put the ring connector on it and forgot about it. Thanks for reminding me Izzy. I am going to send an email and see what happens.

Just following up I had sent my charge TTI in when I had broke the flat head screwdriver on a screw but my blade had gotten muratic acid on it from around the pool accidentally. I was expecting a new tip and was not concerned as much with the blade all ate up and wrote it off but they sent me a brand new one free under warranty with no questions asked. I was very impressed with that. As long as they continue that tradition, I think they will have customers for life.

They told me that I could order a replacement clip on-line. I asked if the clip was not covered by the warranty. I'm waiting for a response...

Ditto here on the Leatherman warranty satisfaction rate. I accidently broke the small screwdriver blade (prying instead of twisting). Spoke with customer service and explained that I would pay since it was obviously my fault and included a note with the same message when I returned it to the factory. Got it back with same steel body case (had my name inscribed) but most if not all blades/tools were brand new.

I subsequently had the pleasure of speaking with Tim Leatherman at Shot Show 2003 in Orlando and took the time to share my good experience and thoughts (as well as naming and thanking the customer service girl that spoke with me) and commending both she and all the other behind the scenes staff that made things happen in their outfit.

It was a pleasure to see the smile on Tim's face.

I'll add my voice asking if you got a satisfactory response. I have never heard anything but happy endings regarding Leatherman's warranty service (even if they don't always get it right the first time), and I need to send one in soon...

It's good to hear the mostly positive responses to this.

I'm wearing my Leatherman Kick daily here in the sandbox, instead of the Gerber that's issued.

My wife has a "standard" Leatherman from about 8 years ago that lived w/ her in Africa. It's decently rusted (chicken guts and the like). I wonder if they'll clean it up for her, or try and replace it? I doubt she'd appreciate a replacement, given the sentimentality associated w/ it.
