You guys have misinterpreted what Wiseman was talking about in his handbook.

The betalight he was refering to was not the "betalight torch" you guys are talking about at 50-100 pounds ( http://www.edirectory.co.uk/penrith_surv...mp;companyid=55 ), but a small item of fishing tackle, about the size of a matchstick, guaranteed usually for ten years, available in several brightnesses and colours, and costing less than 8 pounds sterling, from almost any tackle shop in the UK. They are used for marking floats, rod tips, bite alarms and other bite indicators.
