I have only owned two .22 cal. semi-automatic rifles in my lifetime, and I am hoping one or more of you has owned several.

I would like the opinion of those of you who have owned several to give us the wisdom of not only what you think the most accurate .22 cal. you have owned is, but also which ammunition you used for the most accuracy.

I am interested only in "sporting" type .22's and not anything competition grade.

I currently own a magazine fed Savage .22 semi-auto which I bought about seven months ago and have still not fired. I have a Winchester Mdl. 62A pump .22 which is valued at $750.00 these days. I also have a Mossberg magazine fed light target bolt action .22 with leather sling, hooded front sight with two posts, and a Mossberg Micro Peep sight. The Mossberg got me my fifty foot Sharpshooter Fifth Bar certification from the NRA many years ago.

I made my Marksman First Class fifty foot certification for pistols with a surplus Mdl. 1911 A1 .45 semiauto produced by Singer.

These were all done in the civilian arena as I have never served in the Armed Forces.
