Hi, I've produced a simple survival skills video for families and kids in particular. Be interested in what you think.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RW5QMVqZHQI
The video is an eight and a half minute compilation of random clips edited from the original twenty five minute video.

View high quality video at the link in the description under the video.

The video kept pixelating and I found that rather distracting. Otherwise, not too bad, although highly generalized - ""select the gear appropriate for your activity"? - isn't that why your audience should be learning from this video?

Two specifics - I would place a grooming kit very low on a list of survival priorities (but what can you expect from a colonist?)

A CD makes a lousy signal mirror. Its use should not be advocated. For a modest cost and equivalent weight, one can obtain and carry a real signal mirror that will actually be effective.

The emphasis on fishing isn't too useful in Arizona and vast stretches of the American Southwest, but I imagine it makes sense in Great Britain.

I did not view the video yet. I just wanted to say: Welcome newguy! Jump in with both feet and have fun. This is a great place with outstanding people. Again, welcome.

Appreciate the comment so far. View high quality video at this link http://www.stepthru.net/survival-skills-video

WRT to the inclusion of the small grooming kit; I thought having these useful everyday items in your compact survival kit would encourage you to keep the kit close at hand on a daily basis.
