Here they are ... although there is probably a lot of debate about the order in which they are listed. Special thanks to the folks at ZeroHedge.com for doing this homework. These are spread over several regions of America, so do your own assessment on whether you could be affected. Chance of an accident has been listed (though I would put doubt on any of these numbers - real risks are probably higher for some).

1. Indian Point 3, Buchanan, N.Y.: 1 in 10,000 chance each year. Old estimate: 1 in 17,241. Increase in risk: 72 percent.

2. Pilgrim 1, Plymouth, Mass.: 1 in 14,493. Old estimate: 1 in 125,000. Increase in risk: 763 percent.

3. Limerick 1 and 2, Limerick, Pa.: 1 in 18,868. Old estimate: 1 in 45,455. Increase in risk: 141 percent.

4. Sequoyah 1 and 2, Soddy-Daisy, Tenn.: 1 in 19,608. Old estimate: 1 in 102,041. Increase in risk: 420 percent.

5. Beaver Valley 1, Shippingport, Pa.: 1 in 20,833. Old estimate: 1 in 76,923. Increase in risk: 269 percent.

6. Saint Lucie 1 and 2, Jensen Beach, Fla.: 1 in 21,739. Old estimate: N/A.

7. North Anna 1 and 2, Louisa, Va.: 1 in 22,727. Old estimate: 1 in 31,250. Increase in risk: 38 percent.

8. Oconee 1, 2 and 3, Seneca, S.C.: 1 in 23,256. Old estimate: 1 in 100,000. Increase in risk: 330 percent.

9. Diablo Canyon 1 and 2, Avila Beach, Calif.: 1 in 23,810. Old estimate: N/A.

10. Three Mile Island, Middletown, Pa.: 1 in 25,000. Old estimate: 1 in 45,455. Increase in risk: 82 percent.

I live 5 miles from TMI and was conceived a scant few months after the disaster. I've been talking with my dad about it for 2-3 days now and it's astonishing to see the level of similarities. He was encouraging me to have plan to get out of dodge like he had to back then. They took off all the way to Pittsburgh to stay with some family. I will say though I know some of the TMI plant workers and even now they are hyper-vigilant BECAUSE of the fault that they had before.

Still every time I look at those towers in the distance I can't help but wonder.

A few notes:
- people within 10 miles of TMI qualify for free PI3 - go to walmart if they have it it's free.. never actually gotten any but I've read the laws on it.

- every year they send out a little bulletin on TMI safety and preparedness.

- I'm more worried about the radioactivity from coal ash ponds from brunner island contaminating the susquehanna than I am about TMI going off again.

Interesting, thanks.

What do they mean by "accident?" Is that radioactive release?

North Anna is 100 miles to the southwest of DC, Three Mile Island is 100 miles north. I hadn't paid much attention to their proximity until now.

Have you seen "The China Syndrome" starring Michael Douglas and Jane Fonda?

It came out a couple weeks before Three Mile Island. Heckuva coincidence. It propelled a lot of ticket sales and will forever be associated with the Three Mile Island crisis.

Its available on Netflix -- instant play. Interesting period piece.

Not concerned about Calvert Cliffs, or only those on the top ten list?

Regardless of the list, the nuclear plant I'm concerned with is at San Onofre -- EQ fault line proximity, Pacific Ocean -- doing the math . . .

Downwind.

I've been more worried about dirty nukes than the nuclear plants to the north, south and east.

On a daily basis, I'm more worried about being run over by some idiot driver distracted by their cell phone.
