A years supply of Warm Crusty bread is required, i.e 100-125 Kg of wheat grain will be stored in individual 2 kg vacuum sealed mylar bags (one per week usage).

I have little knowledge of grain mills (except for roller mills and hammer mills used to feed cattle and chickens, who made no complaints).

Would it be wiser, perhaps, to have a mill that could utilize a number of engines? Electric when things are good, gas when things are unsettled, and so on? Just a thought.

But I agree: Warm Crusty bread IS required. This is one of the things that makes life worth living. With real butter and home-made jam, SVP.

Sounds delicious. How do you vacuun seal the mylar bags?

A friend's family have used a hand-crank mill. The kids love working it and it only takes a short time to grind enough to make several loaves.
