Interesting although it looks like a lot of the stories are well known and available elsewhere. I hope I'm wrong, but it kind of looks like they just pulled together some well known stories of survival and put Les Stroud's name on it. Looks like "nothing new here," although I'm sure they're a good read if you haven't read them elsewhere, and I wish Les Stroud every success.

Concur. Amazon's online preview feature is working to their disadvantage on this one, at least for customers who are well read on survival.

I almost bought it but didn't, for the same reasons mentioned above. it didn't look like it had anything new in it. i like his shows but do you think he's got new insights to share about these stories?

i might pick it up if i can find it used though. the kids might like it. they seem to like his presentation style. of course, if my son said "ya sweat, ya die" just one more time while we were at camp this weekend, i might have volunteered to sleep in a quinzee naked and without a sleeping bag.

I received this book the new Les Stroud Book as a Christmas presnt from my son's girlfriend.

It was an interesting collection of true short stories of great survival adventures from around the world and some of Les Stroud's adventures. Not the best writing style but entertaining, I enjoyed it.
