Hi Schwert,

Received it today in great shape, nice packing job! I'm guessing about a week or two due to holidays and mixed up schedules around here & I'll be ready to send it on to ...

I kind of think you can read this at your leisure....I do not know if there is a current next......

Glad it made it there in good shape.

Let me know what you think about his caffeine/ephedra discussion. I thought most of his ideas and recommendations were very good....except for this one. I am totally addicted to caffeine but I am not a fan of using ephedra and caffeine as a pep product.

Enjoy

That was one of my biggest issues with the book too. Other than that is was great.

Schwert & pvr4: Skimmed over the book last night and was a bit baffled (and caught off guard) by that part as well. I'm looking forward to re-reading it in a more relaxed setting and try to see what I missed on the first pass.

From what I've seen so far, the remainder of the book is pretty much on target. At first glance, there seem to be some pretty good physiological explainations are given for a few things that I've wondered about for a while.

The "Praise and other" comments section in the front of the book provided some interesting reading. <img src="images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

This text is fresh to say the least. His thought behind the basics of his kit are clear and logical...even the stimulant stuff. Watch carefully the section on fire starting. He does several pages on matches including selection, striking, waxing, containers, etc. His detail here is amazing compared to most texts which essentially say carry some matches. It is very clear that he has thought about these tools in a teaching mode rather than a telling mode....very nice. He then goes on with magnesium and flint bars, lighters, magnifiers etc. If anyone reads this book and does not come away with a fine appreciation of the importance of firelighting then they really did not read it!

This book has got to be one of the best on the shelf for both its fresh perspective, clear language, and attempt to teach. It has much more to offer in my view than many or most of the texts you can find at bookstores or libraries.

Enjoy

Of course some lawyer will undoubtably find a reason to challenge this in court

You say that like it's a bad thing. Isn't that what lawyers are for?

In any event, it's not likely to be the lawyers mounting a court challenge - if anyone does, it'll be the corporations that were making millions by peddling a dangerous food supplement to the public.
