I was in the Central Valley last week. In just Porterville where I was, there are thousands of orange trees full of fruit left to rot b/c they missed the market picking due to flooding. Just going to let them fall and start over for next year. Sad really.

Yeah, that's sad. Especially sad since so much farmland there is already not in use because of curtailment of irrigation water supplies, and the unemployment rate in the Central Valley is really horrible now.
