Hope the guy is all right and "just" practising... however the report of him going off his meds has people concerned about his safety.

Certainly, it's a worry for family members. It's not his first time "gone walkabout" in the northern bush. The comments below the story tell the tale.

While southern Saskatchewan is flat as a pancake, the northern part is boreal forest, solid with evergreens, lakes, and muskeg bogs. In other words, lots of resources for someone who is bush savvy.

Being off his meds is a worry; but the side effects are pretty nasty and people get tired of them. The illness itself occupies a wide spectrum in terms of its effects. I knew a gentlemen (now departed, RIP) who was schizophrenic. He was a bit odd, and a bit obsessive when he got hold of an idea; but he was also able to function fairly well, and was a gentle soul at all times.

I guess we're all a little bonkers sometimes. Hope this fellow makes it back all right.

According to one commenter who identifies herself as his sister he has been found and is okay, but apparently remaining in the bush.
