Tough loss.
Any way you could go back to the area with a large retrieving magnet or metal detector? Harbor Freight typically has some pretty strong magnets available for cheap. My grandfather drove tow trucks and had a pretty strong magnet on a rope that he used for finding lost tools (or misc. car parts) in the snow.
Of course if it was in the plowed area of a road you probably won't find it, but otherwise it will probably be sitting out there until the next good thaw or even spring.

Loosing part of your EDC really bites! I feel your pain, I lost my original Leatherman PST while gillnetting pike. Replaced my lost PST with another PST, then a Super Tool, then Wave, now a TTi. Mike

I feel your pain too. I left my Leatherman Supertool 200 sitting on a remote hiking trail shelter bench after adjusting my daughters XC ski bindings. I didnt discover the loss until that evening when we got home. I went back at dawn, but it was gone. I now carry a pre-2004 Wave.

Ouch! I've had a lot of close calls but have been lucky so far.
If I lost mine in the snow, I'd probably process it through my snowblower. Double ouch!

I went back and looked for it - no dice, sigh
I hate the sheath that comes with it, as it tends to open, and fall out. The aftermarket one I got was somewhat better, but. My ORIGINAL TTi (also lost) had a MUCH nicer sheath. That one I know exactly when/where I lost it - I was trying to rescue a dieing cat (she didn't make it). Someone hit a cat and left it on the side of the road) in working, my belt buckle broke, and the TTi, sheath and all fell in a sewer. Bit of a down night - the cat didn't make it (NOT one of mine, mine are indoor beasts), and lost my TTi - the only GOOD part is the vet said "I know you were just being a good samaritan - we'll eat the bill"
Today's bummer? I ordered it overnight shipping, and UPS has decided they could not get to me due to "acts of God" - OK, the streets still have some snow on them, but heck, it wasn't THAT bad today

Bummer.
You might consider returning to the spot when the snow is gone. Chances are you won't find it but stranger things have happened. I once lost a knife, nothing special but with some sentimental value, and happen to hike through the same area a few months later and ... there it was. Stuck in a log, where I had left it. I still have that knife.
This sort of random, but regular, loss has convinced me that I leave a thin trail of tools and equipment behind me. That given enough time, constant replacement of all that is lost, and as long as others don't take it, I would eventually be able to go camping with nothing at all because everything I need is already out there.
It also points out that there is a virtue to using less expensive gear but having some redundancy. No matter how good any one item is there is always some chance of losing it. Spend all your money on a single item and you are going to be in trouble if it comes up missing.

Discussion of illegal activites is not allowed on this site. So I am absolutely NOT saying the waste disposal people at air ports will get you confiscated knives and multi-tools for a dollar each. And my comparison of all the multi-tools last winter had nothing to do with me working at the airport for a few weeks. qjs
