It is the time of year to be sure you get new PSK stuff. Break it open, try everything, use it up, burn it up, have fun!

And then do what you need to: get the new toys to re-create a newer, updated, and maybe better PSK.

Gotta love the holidays!

I do all my gear checks after Christmas, not enough $$$ to replace things before smile

I am in the process of assembling a new small Belt Pouch/Altoids Tin PSK, the kit I built last summer in a BCB Mini Mess Tin proved to be too large and heavy for pocket carry this fall. My basement looks like an equipment bomb exploded in it. I have to clean it up tonight before my wife really gets upset about the mess.

Annual?

I thought you were supposed to do it quarterly.

*whispers* or maybe monthly.

ironraven, for you just think of it as the fourth quarterly opportunity of the year.

I am checking my PSK and other gear many times a year, often upgrading or refreshing contents, but I do not intentionally expend all the contents and rebuild with all new except at the end of the year.

We have a pair of walk in closets in the master bedroom, they are maybe 4' x 8'. I put a second top shelf in to be able to store more gear for longer term and resupply and then put in a 5' shelf at desk height where I work on my stuff. I can close the door and its all hidden.

Good idea Eugene, my buddies reloading bench is like that.

I should be building this new PSK kit on my work bench in the storage room, but it is a lonely place and there is no TV. This current PSK kit idea came while I was unpacking from my December muzzleloader deer hunt, so now I have hunting and PSK stuff scattered about. I was going to clean it up tonight but my son wanted to drive across town to his GF, the roads are still bad so rather that let him have the car, I drove him. While he was there my youngest daughter and I filled my Wife's Christmas stocking at WalMart. It was time well spent, WalMart was almost empty of shoppers.

I call those "designated disaster areas."

That particular weapon has blown up many a marriage. I'm surprised it hasn't been banned in the Geneva convention.

Actually not a bad idea. I carry an Altoids tin kit in my 5.11 pant's cargo pocket 24/7 here in Afghanistan. I checked it out after 4 or 5 months of carrying it and was surprised to see that the packet of Micropur tablet was badly chafed. Replace them and checked out the green LED light. Good to go for another 3 or 4 months.

Cheers,
W-W
