Funny (ok, not so funny...) story from MSNBC, which I don't normally read.
About the use of plb's to call for help. Appears many rescue groups think that people are trying to do more than they are capable of because they have plb's as a backup.

Definitely NOT funny. Puts rescuers in jeopardy, AND makes it likely that when a real emergency occurs, the response may be lack luster: "Oh,
another one. Hey, guys, let me finish this hand of of solitaire first before we go 'rescue' another yuppie whose latte got cold."
