So, what do we think of them? I buy now and then, but I'm wondering what people think of them.

They are very good at helping me afford my fetish for European military surplus. -Blast TMI

They have good customer service. I wanted to return some items, and it couldn't have been any easier.
I also agree with the previous comments about being careful about what products you order.

I've only ordered a few things from them but have always been happy with the goods and the service.

Is there a particular reason you're so selective? Is the quality of their items "spotty?" In other words, some things are of good quality and other things are cheap junk? Some of their stuff looks like cheap junk to me, and some of what they carry is seriously overpriced. I don't buy anything from CTD without comparing price elsewhere.

So, what do we think of them? I buy now and then, but I'm wondering what people think of them. I live less than 30 minutes from CTD's main warehouse and storefront operation. I have done business with them for several years for everything from small items up to an M14 Super Match. I have always been treated well, and feel that I have gotten what I paid for. I will email you in a bit.

I've bought a few things from CTD and have been pleased with the items and service. Generally the descriptions are fair as long as you carefully read the descriptions and remember that many items are genuine surplus, often with some wear, and often repaired to maintain serviceability, but not always a pristine appearance.
Other issues come from people misunderstanding the difference between military issue, military style and new copies of GI items that may be more or less the same.
As with any company I usually start off with a small order to see how it goes. I use a credit card to gain some legal rights and controls. After a few small orders I'm more comfortable making larger purchases. The only down side to this strategy is that I just don't buy that much gear because once I find what works I keep it. Other than the stuff that expires, food and medicine, I typically don't spend $100 a year on gear.

Martin,
Several purchases from them, all trouble-free, met their stated delivery ETA's. Products were received as described in their literature and website.
Like anything else, carefully read the descriptions and when needed, make a call to verify and take notes of when, why, and what you talked about and who you spoke with.
Standard disclaimer and no affiliation.

That's the gist of this company right there. Typically, their true surplus stuff is as good as or better than you'll find in a local surplus store. But the "military style" is usually junk. Be careful reading, they're very upfront about it.
