If the ability to boil water is not a high priority then its hard to beat a free PET soda bottle.
I like to use a soda bottle in conjunction with a Peak 700 titanium cup which mate nicely together, yielding a combination which is lighter, more versatile, and more cost effective. I don't have to heat up all of my water supply and then try and handle a very hot bottle. I have never tried that, but I can imagine how much fun that must be...
I can actually cook in the 700 - rudimentary cooking to be sure, but enough to serve as my entire cook set when I want as light a load as possible. If I don't want to use a soda bottle, either a Nalgene or Platypus one L will fit nicely in the Peak 700. If you want to save money for a bit more weight, various stainless steel cups will also nest with any and all of the above.
Any and all of these combos make a lot more sense than a titanium water bottle. I don't know exactly why, but there is something about these overpriced gadgets that gets me into rant mode...
Rant off.
