Thanks for the review, but I have found the Vargo Titanium bottle to be slightly disappointing considering the price point. It appears to be the lightest bottle out there that can be used to boil water directly so the price does reflect this. The bottle stopper does appear to be the weakest part of the design. Its doesn't appear to be to be too durable when compared the wide mouth Klean but only time will tell.
Vargo 0.75L 112g 750ml 6.70
Sigg Standard 1L 145g 1000ml 6.90
Nalgene 38oz 137g 1100ml 8.03
Tatonka Stainless Steel 1L 243g 1000ml 4.12
Klean 60oz 388g 1900ml 4.90
Platypus 1L 35g 1000ml 28.57
Guyot Stainless Steel 38oz 366g 1100ml 3.01
From the above numbers the Tatonka is the winner for me unless I can find a neoprene cosy for the Klean 60oz bottle. (I've been quite impressed with the Klean 60oz wide mouth bottle and over time will be getting a couple more to double up as a Tea Coffee and Sugar set for the Kitchen). The wider base diameter of the Klean 60oz seems to have better stability for boiling water over a gas burner.
If the ability to boil water is not a high priority then its hard to beat a free PET soda bottle.
