Not sure this guy has thought of everything but he seems to have gotten pretty closed: 'green' RV, BOV.

Wow, what an interesting (and expensive) vehicle! His plans to travel from Alaska to the tip of South America remind me of Frank and Helen Schreider who did the same trip in a military surplus DUKW back in the 1950's. They wrote about their adventures in "20,000 Miles South: A Pan-American Adventure in a Seagoing Jeep from the Artic Circle to to Tierra del Fuego."

That's a great BOV. Until, of course, you're 6.5mpg leaves you stranded. Or your 46-inch tire blows out.

Neat, but I doubt it's as durable as it looks. However, I'll gladly try it for a year if he wants me to try it:)

What he could probably spend his money wiser on is a treadmill. No good having that heart attack 200 miles into the brush.

Thats a serious ride but not very practical. For something more affordable, a recent Newsweek article stated the Toyota Hilux(Tundra) is the #1 go to vehicle for armies and insurgent groups around the world.

Here in my big city, that vehicle has "Steal Me" written all over it. Nevertheless, I wouldn't mind something even half that nice.
