May be old hat but I recently bought and installed cargo bars across my small 5 x 5 rental storage space [hey, I live on a small sailboat!] A couple I used to hold rows of boxes against the wall to ensure the stacks of boxes were less likely to fall over. One I installed a bit higher, added shower curtain hooks, and hung things from them.

In the future I may take everything out and use a few more cargo bars to create "shelves" for the boxes and other things. This could get stuff off the floor in a flexible organized way. I may find a way to get even higher in the space to install a cargo bar or two for more hanging options [for the gear, guys!]
