I ordered the The Ultimate Pen Knife from AG Russell (RUS-P3Ti). You know how things sometimes look bigger than they are in photographs. Well, this little humdinger is not.

When I got the package containing my order, I thought they had forgotten to include the knife. Hey, it happens. The package was so light, I though it held only the invoice. I was delightfully wrong.

This tiny knife is so thin, I slid it into the credit card pocket of my wallet and it fit perfectly, without any bulges. I have tiny knives, but none so flat. It is a simple slipjoint, but now I can always carry a knife on me, except for those touchy areas with which we are all too familiar.

Anyway, this knife now lives in my wallet. I thought I'd let you guys know about it.

I have an original-style Gerber LST in my "main" Altoids-size PSK. It fits the tin nicely, not having to go diagonally, but it does take up a fair amount of space. On the other hand, I've often thought that it's just large enough to be a very useful tool.

When you say "simple slipjoint", I gather that there's no lock- does it have a backspring?

I have a Gerber Micro LST, too. I found it simply too thick to rest comfortably in my wallet without bulging. It was the smallest in length and the thinnest knife I had until I got this one from agrussell. I don't know if it has a backspring. I'll look at it again and let you know.

You are correct. There is no lock. Tension holds the blade open.

Actaully, the LST I used is the old, orignal model, that I think is a bit larger than the Mini/Micro variants. It just fits, lengthwise, in an Altoids-size tin, but in bulk, it takes up perhaps a fifth or more of the volume.

On the other hand, it's a handy size lockblade as a tool, and maybe not entirely useless as a weapon in a real pinch. As they used to say (some time back),
